This is a product that is “shown to improve face contour, tone, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.” I don’t really have significant fine lines or wrinkles, but I did want to tone and tighten up my face and this really made a difference for me. My face was a lot tighter, lifted, and I noticed my eyebrows were more lifted as well. I looked much younger and slimmer. The product uses “microcurrent technology” so it can definitely be a little painful to use, and I would be wary of using this type of device if you have any medical conditions. The biggest downside is the price. The cost is $199.00, but it is definitely worth it in my opinion.
I want to first mention that I would be careful using this product if you are currently having problems with acne or sensitive skin. I used to have breakouts and this product aggravated it. In addition, I have read online that it contains some citric ingredients that may be irritating to sensitive skin. Other detriments to this product, are that it claims to be fragrance free but contains fragrances and that it also contains blue dye. Once I took care of my breakouts, I personally found myself really liking this product. According to the company it is a retinol that “boosts the look and feel of skin plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores.” I personally would have to agree with all of these statements. It is meant to be used at night because if you go out in the daytime while using this product, the sunlight could harm your skin. However, 1 oz is $105.00, and I cannot justify the cost especially with products on the market that costs way less. So my overall opinion, is that this product is good, but a little overhyped and possibly not worth the money. I might try this product again, but first I want to try other skincare brands, such as The Ordinary, which is much cheaper, and see how they compare. If you want to try this for yourself without paying the full price, sometimes Sephora offers variety packages that will include this product, or you might be able to pick one up as a sample.
This highlighter is the best highlighter for a natural look. It will make your skin dewy and glistening but will look as if it is a part of your natural skin, unlike many other highlighters on the market. It lasts long and does not appear chunky or streaky. I personally dab it on with my finger and apply it that way, but there might be other ways of applying it. I would be careful about using a brush, since the product is sort of a mixture of between cream and powder. It will not give you an extreme glow like other highlighters, but just enough that it would be great again, for working professional environments or a no-makeup look. I would highly recommend for those that are interested. There are five shades you can pick on the Sephora website, and the price is $30.
I personally really liked this mask. The main products in this mask are: sugar, honey, rosehip oil, and pumpkin extract, but it also seems to have a lot of other plant-based ingredients in the mask as well, such as kelp extract. Because the mask has such an orange tint to it, I think that it is likely to be very high in vitamin C and high in antioxidants, which very good for skincare. In fact, pumpkin is high in beta-carotene an antioxidant, as well as vitamin C. Honey is also high in antioxidants and has antibacterial properties, and also moisturizes and helps your skin to glow. Rosehip oil is again high in antioxidants and helps with skin discoloration and pigmentation. The sugar in the mask serves as a light exfoliant and doesn’t seem to be as granular as regular sugar; granularity can cause microtears in the skin I have read. The only thing about this product is that it is really sticky, so it might be best to pull your hair back before using it. The total cost is $42.00 for 3.2oz, but because of its high antioxidant content I feel like it is worth the money. But you could also try to make a similar product at home since the main ingredients are so readily available.
This is a face mask that you apply to your face and use a small magnet provided with the product to remove the product.
There are a number of things that I have tried from Dr. Brandt that I liked, but this was not one of them. I have tried this mask multiple times, and this is what I have seen from it; it is simply a very good moisturizer. I personally have not seen any anti-aging effects. The company claims that “the magnetic properties of the iron based formula… help to reduce signs of aging skin…”. I do not see why this would be, and I personally didn’t see any anti-aging effects that I have seen from other products. I think this product might be good for people with really dry skin. This product also contains iron powder which might actually harm the skin because it can serve as a catalyst in the production of free radicals, which may actually accelerate the aging of the skin. I personally do not suffer from dry skin, and I felt that this made me breakout slightly. So I will most likely not buy this product again because the price is $75.00 for the regular-sized container. Again, if you have dry skin that isn’t sensitive, this product might be great for you. You can always try the mini-sized version of this mask for $24.00. This product is available at Sephora and Ulta.
Activated charcoal can be used to whiten teeth. I personally mixed activated charcoal powder with a little bit of water and brushed my teeth with it, and my teeth were really white afterwards. Activated charcoal can also be used to help unclog pores and clear up acne. This is apparently because of its electric charge that causes it to absorb “toxins.” The most common at-home mask recipe that I have seen online is to use some aloe vera gel and mix it with activated charcoal, but I just used a little bit of water and activated charcoal on my face and left it on for 10 minutes and that worked as well. Although it can be taken as a supplement to “detox,” I personally do not do this because I think that it could also absorb nutrients in your digestive tract. So I only use it for a face mask and as a teeth whitener. I used to use a soap bar a while ago by the brand Herbivore called “Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Soap Bar” which contains activated charcoal, and this was one of the few products that kept my skin really clear.
Besides the Laura Geller and the Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighters, the Artist Couture Diamond Glow highlighters are some of my preferred highlighters. These highlighters are blinding, especially used with a setting spray on your brush. I got all of the highlighters in a bundle with a fan brush. However, on the site, it looks like now you can only buy them individually. My favorite personally is Coco Bling. I have a lot of highlighters that I would probably never get again, but I will repurchase some of the Diamond Glow highlighters when I run out of product. You can take a look at these highlighters at: http://www.artistcouture.com if you are interested .
