Don’t apply cuticle oil before applying nail polish as this will make it harder for the nail polish to adhere to your cuticles.
Use a nail dehydrator prior to applying nail polish to get rid of excess oils on the cuticle. You can also use a cotton pad and white vinegar to remove excess oils instead.
Apply a base coat. This works as a primer for the nail polish to stick to.
Apply two layers of nail polish, waiting between each application, to make nail polish last longer.
Apply a top coat to seal the nail polish.
Wear gloves when doing house chores, especially involving water, as to prevent nail chipping.
