Make sure you are getting enough sleep and avoid alcohol and smoking. Salt retains water so a diet high in sodium will contribute to puffiness under the eyes. If you have dark eye circles, try using a retinoid, which helps build up collagen in thin skin. You can try placing two slices of cucumbers that have been cooled in the fridge on your eyes. Cucumbers contain antioxidants and vitamin K which will help with under eye circles, while the cooling effects from being in the fridge will help with puffiness. You can also try using leftover tea bags. Place them in the fridge until they are cool, and place the tea bags on your eye area for about 15 minutes. The caffeine should help diminish swelling. You can also put two spoons in the fridge and place them on your eyes as well. In addition, try sleeping on your back with an extra pillow to help keep blood flowing, which will diminish dark circles. Apply almond oil or coconut oil to the under eye area to make skin more supple. Make sure to drink plenty of water, and eat lots of foods that are high in vitamin C and iron. Excessive sun exposure can also contribute to damaged and thinned skin, which leads to dark circles under the eye as well.
